Artists

Ammonia
An alternative rock band from Australia, Ammonia has made a name for themselves producing post-Nirvana songs including "Face Down" and "Little Death." The band consists of Dave Johnstone as guitarist & vocalist, Allan Balmont on the drums, & Simon Hensworth on bass. Although the band is popular in Australia & among some alternative rock fans in the United States, their sound is not definable among the other alternative rock groups.

Big Heavy Stuff
At the turn of the ‘80s, the brothers Greg and Darren Atkinson dissolved their previous group Ups And Downs, retained their lighting person Carolyn Polley & formed a new band that would reflect their love of the indie music from the time, from shoegaze to Slint, leaving behind a lapsed contract with Australia’s most famously successful independent label & a session with Pixies producer Gil Norton.

Bluebottle Kiss
Bluebottle Kiss were formed in Sydney in 1993 as a grunge trio by Ben Fletcher on bass guitar & vocals, Jamie Hutchings on lead guitar & lead vocals, & Peter Noble on drums. Their influences are from the late 1980s United States indie scene, which include Sonic Youth & the Afghan Whigs, singer-songwriters of the 1970s, Neil Young and Van Morrison, as well as the Australian independent scene with the Church and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. The band were signed to Murmur, an imprint of Sony Music Australia.

Glide
Glide was a Sydney-based indie rock outfit formed in 1991, fronted by the late, great William Arthur. Glide’s sound, characterized by Arthur’s darkly evocative lyrics & unique harmonies, was a significant force in ’90s Australian music. Sadly, Arthur passed away in 1999, adding a poignant layer to the band’s legacy.

Infinity Broke
Formed in 2013 by founding Bluebottle Kiss member Jamie Hutchings, Infinity Broke are a quartet that have been described by Rolling Stone Australia as ‘A powerful exercise in dissonance, rhythm, and melody’.
‘Like Thurston Moore covering Neil Young’s Like a Hurricane in Dusseldorf’
The Music

The Panics
Characterised by their cinematic atmosphere, contemplative lyrics & deceptively absorbing melodies, The Panics were a beloved fixture of 2000s Australian indie rock
You can hear the influence of Australian greats – the spaciousness of The Triffids, the moodiness of The Church, The Go-Betweens' pop nous – blending into a balance of bombast and thoughtful songwriting.

Restless Leg
Restless Leg got born in March 2012 at a party in a suburban backyard. Constant gigging lent itself to lean & direct song arrangements recalling classic antipodean indie rockers such as The Go-Betweens & The Clean. RL released their self-titled debut in June 2013, follow up album 'Some Kind of Restless' in October 2017, 'Dream Buffet' in June 2021 & 'Dance Around My Head' in 2024.
